The Importance of Proofs, & "The Referee" Update

The Importance of Proofs

Well, I've now received 3 proofs, one each from Mixam, Lulu, and DriveThru.

The best of the three is definitely Lulu, and I'm working on getting it distributable worldwide ASAP, unfortunately, this means it will be in Paperback form rather than saddle-stitched, but I don't want anyone left out.

The worst is absolutely from DriveThru. It appears their printer had some issue with the images that I am working on resolving literally right now. But it took about 2-3 weeks for it to get to me from the time I pushed "go" to now, so it may be a minute before that's available, unfortunately.

Mixam is also decent, but I had no idea what I was doing and ordered paper that was way too thick. User error on my part, I think.

The Referee - Progress Report

The second zine "The Referee" (Title subject to change) is making good progress, clocking in at 23 pages at the moment, including the essentials of what it means to be a Referee (Information, Adjudication, & Neutrality), a procedure for preparing and running your very first adventure (including building a party with the players), "Growing a World" from simple seeds to a sandbox rich with interesting faces and troubled places, procedures for building encounter-based adventures, and also significant sections on Monsters and Treasure.

I am hoping to have this zine finished by mid-June (Oh dear, that's only a month...) so that I can spend the rest of the Summer working on Inisval, the third and final zine of this series.

Thanks again for your continued support, I will make another update once a print copy is officially available for purchase!

If you'd like to support the process, you can buy me a coffee (or cover the $5 cost of another DriveThru proof...) on PayPal.
