Goblin Tales: Updates & Print-Optimization
I like books.
Real, bound books that you can hold in your hand, flip through the pages, scribble notes in the margins, etc.
As soon as Goblin Tales was finished, I realized I wanted to hold a copy of it in my hands and be able to flip through it at the table, so I've been working on developing a version that can be printed through Lulu or a similar publisher, and I think it's almost ready!
This version is cleaned up in preparation for that. I did have to shrink the text 1 font size, it's now 9 point instead of 10. Turns out margins are important.
A few other "bug-fixes" include:
- Combatants now get +2 HP with each level.
- Attacks deal dice + modifier damage.
- Standard swords are now 1-handed d8 melee weapons. For some reason I had marked them as 2-handed.
- "Shatter" from shields and staves has been replaced with "Block". Instead of immediately shattering on a hit, these items can absorb a certain amount of melee damage as a reaction, and only shatter if that damage threshold is exceeded.
I think before releasing a print edition, I'll work on including a few more classes, and some GM guidance for generating villages and adventures.
If there's anything else you'd like to see in a more finalized version, let me know in the comments.
